The Fritz Family Welcomes Julia

I will be the first to tell you, I am NOT a baby person. I have never been the best or the most enthusiastic newborn photographer, but when a close friend asks to you photograph one of the happiest and most intimate moments of their life: You pack up your gear at midnight and head to the hospital!

The whole experience was so surreal, I experienced birth from the side of the "Mom" but never as a third-party observer.

The amount of love in the room was overwhelming.

Every woman wants a photo of her husband-to-be as they walk down the aisle, but THIS is the moment I think should be captured for every family, the moment a father sees his child for the first time. I am not afraid to admit, I was in tears seeing Julia for the first time and witnessing the outpouring of happiness from both Nate and Heather.

After a Skype call to the new grandparents, and some first family photos, I walked to my car renewed. In the early hours of the morning, I had witnessed nature's most beautiful miracle, and it was exactly what I needed. I started this summer watching a life end, the most important life in my life, taken from me by a horrible disease. I ended the summer capturing a life beginning, and with it, a new journey for a beautiful family, and a sweet friend.

"Every story has an end, but in life, every ending is just a new beginning."

Katie's "Marilyn" Inspired Bridal Portraits

I am always nervous when shooting at an unknown location, and was especially nervous when I pulled through the gates of a huge private estate in Mansfield for Katie's bridal portraits. The location was picture-perfect, as was the bride, and I am so thrilled that I was able to capture the "Marilyn Monroe" Old Hollywood inspired look that Katie was going for!

Katie's natural beauty was enhanced by the soft curls and striking makeup.

And no Hollywood glam session is complete without a staircase and a baby grand piano!

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this shoot a success!

Katie & James - Old Hollywood Glam Wedding

Hello to my lovely followers! I have a new goal: to blog more. I am kicking off my commitment to share more lovely images and stories with you all, by sharing some GORGEOUS images and the SWEET story of Katie and James Todd and their Old Hollywood inspired wedding.

The weather was perfect for the outdoor ceremony, and the light shined through the trees beautifully. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when Katie walked down the aisle in THAT DRESS (especially the Groom, the look on his face was priceless!)

The decor of blush, navy and gold helped set the tone of sophistication and glamour.

You can't have class, without a little sass, and the bridal party had plenty of sass to spare!

At the end of a lovely evening, I stole the bride and groom away from their party for a few minutes to grab a few romantic, late-night shots under the twinkling lights.

Congratulations, Katie and James Todd! May your lives be filled with happiness!

Super Fun Circus First Birthday Session

I was so excited to photograph this sweet boy's CIRCUS THEMED first birthday session! I had so much fun picking out the props, and especially loved finding a new, unique use for my DIY Booth! Mom & Dad brought the mini-hockey net, and all of the hockey gear for the super-cool hockey themed photos, too (GO STARS!).

A Sweet Shabby Chic First Birthday

I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet little cherub for her first birthday. Not only was little Miss F an angel, but her mom came so prepared with perfect outfits, handmade banners, and a super cute little cake! With some simple additions from my studio closet, this became one of my favorite first birthday sessions yet!
